Elegance Wordpress Theme Review

Elegance-1224 is a free WordPress Theme that is distributed through Free Wordpress Themes dot com. It was created by Vacation Rentals By Owner.

Vacation Rentals by Owner is actually a real estate rental site, but their blog has a section for free WordPress themes. The author of this theme is Conquerer LLC. The theme is released under a Creative Commons Attribution which means that it can be downloaded for free and used for both personal and professional use.

Elegance is a basic, two column theme in which the main content theme is on the left and the sidebar is on the right. The name of the blog is displayed on the right hand side of the header and there is a fun design that cascades down the right side of the content column.

The basic color scheme of this blog is grey and white, though the decorative design incorporates electric blue, a dark pink and a light purple. Post titles are in green, as is the text in the sidebar.

Manipulation-wise, it is very easy to change the colors of the backgrounds, the fonts, etc. If you have played with WordPress themes in the past, you will have no problem manipulating this theme. Though, a word of caution: once you manipulate the sidebar, you will not be able to use the handy-widget plug-in that works with this theme.

This theme is great for people who like simple designs, but also like to have a little bit of flair to add character to the site. The artwork on this blog does not take away from the content of the blog, but acts as a way to infuse the site with some color. It requires very little site manipulation at all, though playing with the colors and fonts is certainly fun!
